The books were dramatized for an radio series by Paul Ramseyer of Northwestern College Radio in Minnesota and our family is now a part of the ministry, helping to produce the audio series for families to enjoy at home! Do you want your children to learn gentle lessons of courage, faith & friendship on THEIR level? Do you want to see real growth in their character? This series of books is a must have for any young boy! My sons read them faster than I can buy them. I would HIGHLY recommend these to any boy over the age of 9 or so. They are Christian books about a young group of boys that live near Sugar Creek. The books cover all their adventures and exploits as they learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!
I purchased this set of books for my 8 year old son for Christmas. It's January 11th and he has read all by one of the books already. We read these books with our son, him reading, everynight and he reads on his own every chance he gets. The print is a great font, the wording is perfect for kids, and the stories keep children's interest peaked. We also have the #1 - 6 set and plan on purchasing the other sets in the future. I can't find any wrong with these books and can't imagine anyone else finding any problems either.
My twin boys love this series and ask me to read it to them all the time, we've read almost 20 books now in less than a year. I love that the content is safe I don't have to worry about what kind of language the characters are going to use or that they will promote poor behavior. Love this series!
I mainly wanted to know the availability of these books for my son's birthday gift. He has loved these stories for years, from the first radio drama. These books are well written and uphold the moral values we have tried to instill in our children. I highly recommend the Sugar Creek Gang stories to all families!
Love this book series. Great messages, story line keeps you wanting to read more, and once you finish the book, you want the next book in the series. A very Godly book series with scripture references, and awesome morals. I would pay up to $4 per book used or new
The Sugar Creek Gang is a group of kids that have many adventures and all of them have nicknames. First there's Bill then Poetry who knows about 100 poems. Then there's Circus who is very acrobatic. Next is Dragonfly who is always seeing things before everyone else. The littlest in the gang is little Jim. And the leader is big Jim. The Sugar Creek Gang find a cave that they plan to sleep in. Dragonfly is afraid that there are ghosts in the cave. Poetry plans to scare everyone. Bill helps Poetry with his plan. Everyone gets scared. They find a secret passage in the cave that leads to someone's house that they know.In 1925 the author, Paul Hutchens, was made a Baptist minister. Only a few years into his career, Hutchens was forced out of the ministry when he was told he had a terrible disease called Tuberculosis. Though his time as an evangelist was cut short, Paul Hutchens guessed that he had preached 1,777 sermons and saw 2,500 people become Christians. While he was getting better from his sickness, he tried writing and soon found out that he was good at it.I'm amazed and fascinated at how the Sugar Creek Gang found the secret passage. I was curious about what was going to happen after they slept in the cave. I was interested at how old man Paddler came to the cave through the secret passage. There are many things to be excited about in this book cause this book is written about how a boys life can be. This is an astounding story. I think it is awesome.I think you should read this book because it shows how a boy's life can be. The Sugar Creek Gang is a series of books about some kid's who live a very adventurous life. They all have some special talent and I appreciate that.
Our grandson is just at the age he can read these books and he really enjoys reading. The mysteries keep the suspence going and the lessons taught are a rare find these days. The books arrived in excellent condition and a timely manner.
