This book was once a must-have! Unfortunately, it is no longer as beneficial as it once was. With the release of the ICD-10 and the impending release of the DSM-5, the diagnostic coding section of this reference is all but worthless. I strongly suggest that potential buyers wait for the 8th edition. The Interview portion may still have a bit of useful information; however, it will most certainly be updated in the revision. Give this one a pass unless you really want to shell out another $50 within the year on the update.

So far, so good. This book seems to contain every permutation for almost any question or situation that could come up in a clinical interview or during treatment. Needless to say, it's too much to memorize. But it's an excellent reference in case you got stuck and needed to check something so as to refine your technique. Sometimes it's all about semantics, and this book helps you put just about everything in a more tactful way to allow you to glean more information.

this is a must for any clinician or school psychologist or social worker who wants to write quality and comprehensive reports. I strongly encourage all my interns and grad students to purchase it as a career investment.

This was a great help to me through grad school in learning how to write reports. The main focus is on the psychosocial yet there is enough to help write any report. Terms are easier to find and create a much more accurate statement on the client! I highly suggest this book.

I am a mental health intern and was looking for a book to help with my clinical writing. Unfortunately, this book does not give samples and is too lengthy, otherwise. I tried to return it, but unfortunately, it was past the return date.

It had been about 15 years since the last comprehensive psychological evaluation I administered and this book is the best for detailed information. I am thrilled to have purchased it again after having the 3rd edition 20 years ago!

This book can help you ask the right questions for interviews at most. But not the book you want for clinical report writing. It has alot of terms to use for certain situations but might not be as vast as the cover makes it sound

A great investment for those interested in clinical assessment and writing reports. It benefited me in writing academic psychological reports. A must have if you are majoring in psychology.
