If you are looking for a sort book that gives explicit instructions on when to use pictures and when to use words, this book is for you! The sorts are sequenced in an order that scaffolds instruction. This is the only book you will need. A must have for any teacher K-5 who teaches word study and truly wants to provide the right instruction for every child. The sorts are meant for grades K-3, however, we all know that students do not come to us at the right level. As a fifth grade teacher, I found the book a life-line for my students who had not reached the Syllable Juncture stage, yet.
This book is a perfect addition Word Journeys. It contains premade word sorts that are easy to copy and use. I love it.
This book was a required purchase for our daughter's education masters program and she felt it was well written, easy to understand and follow along, made use of good examples and offered word sort activities and techniques that she will be able to use in her curriculum to help her kids improve their word-use skills.It was also very nice to be able to get it here for much less than her campus book store was asking.Recommended if you are in the same situation, or if you are home schooling. Was delivered quickly too.

I love this so much better than the WTW books! I like how you can do pictures AND words with digraphs and that there are multiple sorts for different features!
