Not a bad book, and it's a pretty easy read, which is good. My only negative is that I purchased the Basal and Squamous Cell Skin Cancer Quick FACTS book as well, and there is too much of the same text. These two books clearly could have been, and should be combined. You don't need two separate books. Good information, though.
If you need a very quick overview of melanomic skin cancer, this is a good reference. It tells you about the disease and then the treatment process. However, the "research" is not the most indepth studies done; it also doesn't tell you that the surgeries only help a very small percentage of people. Most people experience metasasis and continued surgeries and drugs. If you believe the doom and gloom research, good news, not everyone dies by the fifth year. It may spread to various areas, which then is the challenge. There are actually natural substances that fight the disease better than chemo and drugs. And there are protocols that also fight the disease without using chemo. Again, this is a very aggressive disease, and not to be assumed to be curable. Every conceivable protocol has to be utilized to kill the cells. If indeed cancers are caused by microbes, then they need to learn how to kill the microbes. This is theoretical; microbes are stained within the cell to show they exist, but no one knows if they actually cause the cancer or if the microbes are secondary invaders. The book is too small and superficial to discuss at any length the research, alternative forms of treatment that can be used in conjunction with conventional approaches. And, the medical establishment is more concerned with money than with curing people. Big Pharm isn't in business to find cures, just "disease management". But this little book will introduce you to conventional wisdom and protocol.
