Superb book, clearly written and extremely helpful to someone like myself with prostate cancer. As a physician and patient, I was impressed by Dr. Bubley's common sense and perspective. When warranted, he offers hope but not false hope .His style makes the reader feel as if he is in the room talking to you. This book is a wonderful achievement not just for the author but most of all the patient fortunate to read it. RMG, MD

This book is excellent. It covers the topic in depth and is well organized. However, I found "Winning the Battle Against Prostate Cancer" by Dr. Gerald Chodak, MD to be the information to be presented in a better manner. I bought both books and refer to both. But find that I refer to Chodak's book more often when I need to look something up about dealing with Prostate Cancer.

Nothing puts fear into one's heart like your doctor's words "I am sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you have cancer."Even more fearful is that not all specialists take the time to understand his or her patient's medical condition to provide adequate information. Making wise decisions about your treatment is very difficult when medical professional, in whom you place your health and life, do not provide the viable options. That was true for me. I chose to study this disease for 6 months (with my doctor's consent) before making my treatment decision. This book, along with a couple of others on the topic, really made the difference for me. If you think you may have prostate cancer, or even if it's in your family history, you must read this book.

You can find more information by visiting the web sites of major hospitals such as Mout Sinai, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Johns Hopkins etc. and then looking at the expertise of each doctor. Since I am in NJ those were the most convient yet my final choice was Hackensack University Medical center because of the procedure I chose and the skill of the surgeon which was equivalent to the one at Mount Sinai.

The information in the book seems to be outdated based on other book I received from you.
