The writer claims that she is professor of Math, but a quick review of the book reveals author needs basic Math lessons. For example, Question #292, shortest side of an isosceles triangle is 10 m, and the longest side is 20 m. Madam, how is that possible?. Do you know that sum of two sides of a triangle has to be greater than the third? Also, same mistake is repeated in Question #300: The sides of a triangle have lengths of 3, 3 and 12 meters. Again, YOU CANNOT FORM A TRIANGLE WITH SIDES 3, 3 and 12. This is very basic math that sum of two sides of a triangle have to be greater than the third. FAIL GRADE FOR YOU PROFESSOR.

I am a math tutor, and this book is great for tutors because it is simply a list of problems, with brief answers at the back. It has a great organization, so you can point your student to the correct section and have a many problems for them to do. Even better would have been if this book had a diagnostic test which gave the students' feedback aligned with the way they have subdivided the topic and a brief paragraph (or two) describing the skills each chapter teaches (e.g., What does the chapter "Numbers" cover? What about the chapter "Proportions"? etc.)I also note that there is no trigonometry chapter and, as is usual for books of this type, there is no index.

This is a good review. It's different from other ACT practice test books. You can find out what kind of problem you have in different topics. And they also provide some fresh questions you will not see in the other practice test book.

I'm glad to see there are others who found so many ridiculous errors in this book. I counted 22 flawed questions, with problems ranging from mild to severe. It seems clear that no one edited this book -- there are just too many questions for which there is no correct answer, or the explanation in the back is actually incorrect. Beyond this, there are many questions in this book that are simply not representative of the math tested on the ACT. I've been teaching this test for 20 years, and it makes me angry when I see such a piece of crap so hastily slapped together. Put more time into it, and put out a good product, McGraw Hill!

For the price, this is a good value for ACT review. The e-book formatting looked good, and I found the answer key to be mainly free of errors. The questions are divided by topic for targeted review. I recommend practice problems such as these if you have limited practice time before the ACT.

This book has errors in it And should be corrected asap. The definition of reversible proportion in this book is defined as y=x/K. I just do not understand how such a mistake can slip to press???

Bought this book for my daughter to review for the SAT. The organization of the book is excellent, the problems are good. Good explanation of the answers in the back of the book. But, the author made many mistakes in their answers. How hard would it have be for the author or the editor for that matter to verify the work? Very disappointing that a mathematician would be so careless. On the positive note since the author explains all their answers it is easy to understand exactly where they went wrong with their work.

There are a number of fairly easy questions. Would rather have the questions difficult (like the actual ACT). We like that it's just questions and not strategy material.
