I have been using Wiley since 2011 in an attempt to pass the CPA exam. These manuals are very hefty with information, possibly too hefty, but ultimately, I was able to pass the tests and that's what counts. The 2013 manuals differ from the 2011 manuals in that they present a concept or a couple of concepts, and then tell you in the text which questions to do at the end of the chapter to cement the concept, so if you aren't too sure about what you're reading, you can jump right to the questions (usually 6 or 7 of them) to help you comprehend. This is a much better organization that the 2011 manuals, which just gave you a ton of information, and then a ton of questions at the end of each chapter. The only weakness I can see is that the information is presented in linear fashion, but it's not always clear what's the most important to study (the tax section is at the back of this book, which is by far the more important section of this test). Still, if you are trying to pass on your own dime, you will be hard pressed to find better value than Wiley. You will pass if you put the time in.

There are several different CPA reviews on the market, some are great and some aren't. You could go with the top of the line brands and spend several thousands of dollars and fail the test. The key to passing the CPA exam is staying on top of studying and putting in the hours. This book is the key to success. Do ever question in this review at least 2 times and you will pass the CPA exam. Several CPA reviews include Wiley CPA exam review for the question part of the exam review. This book also includes information on the questions.Remember this is a review, it will not give great detail into everything accounting, but will help you succeed in passing the CPA exam.

I bought this book specifically hoping that there will be at lease 2012 updates. But in addition to the same misspellings the tax rates have not changed and still show 2011 rates. I understand that the rates will be most likely provided on the exam but it is still annoying to see the old 2011 tax rates in 2013 book.

The pages are large, the fonts are small and each module covers it's subject in depth. The practice exam questions and 2 simulations very well represent the subject matter. This book does not represent a succint treatment of the subjects but requires a lot of time to read and study. However, you will be well prepared for the exam.

I like these test prep guides because they are more of a narrative than a lot of the other test prep guides that I have tried. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that I bought the kindle version and I found it cumbersome to switch between the review material and the test questions. If I were to buy it again I would buy the paper version.

As usual, Wiley is complete and the questions are similar to the ones on the exam. This was my third exam with Wiley, passed all on my first attempt always in upper 80s.It is tough to digest yes, but with Wiley you're guaranteed to pass, as it has everything you need to know.Don't look elsewhere, re-write this book in your own notes, commit yourself to study hard 6 weeks and you'll pass!

My wife was taking the file portion of her CPA exam and because of this book it helped her pass. REG was a challenge for her and the other books out there didn't help her as much as this one did.Wish it was cheaper, the test is already expensive enough.

After my bad experience with the Auditing version of this book, I just got access to a Becker Regulation book. I didn't use this book at all. This book doesn't help you in any way to highlight the highly tested areas. While knowing everything is the key, remembering all of it is more difficult than you think. Like Becker, that gives you a lecture on everything, then highlight the highly tested areas, Wiley just jumbles some information in a book. BECKER is the best!
