This practice test helped me with studying for my FSOT. I did not use it alone but rather with the study guide and flashcards from the same company. I recommend it to others who are taking the exam. The Practice Tests (there are two) covers Job Knowledge, English Expression, and a Written Essay. Each test also has an Answer Key and Explanations section. The questions are all multiple choice and the written section is timed - thirty minutes. I found no grammar or spelling errors in the material. The questions cover a wide range of material, which I think if you are extremely educated you may be able to draw from your knowledge enough to take the test without review, but otherwise, unless you've been in school recently enough to have a lot of these facts in your head, you might want to review for it. I did not know the correct answer to half the material on this test, although with the other two products in hand I was able to study not only the material in more depth but also use the guidance given for taking exams. After that, even the questions I wasn't sure about were easier to answer, using elimination as well as other techniques taught. I have used this company's material for a couple of different exams I've taken, and they seem to always have quality material in addition to ALWAYS IMPROVING. For that, I give five stars. Don't expect a quick fix, but study properly with quality material, and you will succeed.
If you’re worried about taking this exam, then you really ought to get yourself this Practice Questions book. It’s written by test experts so it helps give you a feel for the way questions will be worded and organized on the actual test. Being able to take practice tests before the actual exam is super helpful and anxiety-relieving. You can really see how well you know your stuff and then focus on the areas that you’re not so sure about.This book truly is like a sneak peak into the real exam. It’s thorough and comprehensive and will leave you feeling much more prepared and confident when testing day arrives. It would work great on it’s own, but even better if you incorporated it with the study guide and flashcards. Why not give yourself the best advantage possible? This book will save you time in the long run and really help you to know where you stand. Two thumbs up!
I thought that this would come with more examples or lessons, but its just straight up questions with answers. I won't say its not a good book, but this is will only supplement other books to prepare you for the test. I haven't taken the test yet, but this is a nice addition to all the books Ive gotten to prepare!

I thought this was a suspiciously easy test until I got to the English Expression section. It was TERRIBLE. The icing on the cake was that they wrote an entire passage about Colombia and spelled it "Columbia". In a FOREIGN SERVICE TEST. Returning ASAP. Don't waste your time on this bulls***.

The FSOT Practice Questions booklet was just what I needed to prepare for the exam! I was seeking extra practice on questions and it is difficult to find resources on the FSOT. It particularly allowed me to practice not only job knowledge questions, but also to brush up on English expression!
There will be a possible answer that is a date that looks like this: May 5, 199... This is obviously incorrect and makes this practice test easier. I appreciate it, but is this how the FSOT exam is? I highly doubt it. Mostly informative; but for the money I spent, I expected something much better.
